Memorial of Glory
The memorial complex of Glory is a place of perpetuating the memory of the immortal feat and heroism of the patriots in the struggle against the Nazi fascism.
More than a dozen thousands of partisans, prisoners of war, undergrounders and patriots, who did not want to surrender to the enemy, were put to death by the Nazi invaders during the occupation of Kharkiv in the northern part of the city, on the territory which the memorial occupies in the years of war. The memorial is formed by three bas-reliefs and three memorial steles with lowered cast flags, which tell about the heroes who stably and courageously fought the enemy. The sculpture "Batkivshchyna-maty" (Motherland), at the foot of which the eternal fire burns, and Saint George Chapel are located on the territory of the memorial.
